When I realized the storm was inevitable,
I made it my medicine.

Deidre Opp is a celebrated Integrative Yoga Psychotherapist, Minded Yoga Therapist, Minded Supervisor Manager and founder of DeeOpp Yoga. Based outside of London, her acclaimed pursuits in Integrative Yoga Psychotherapy stem from a professional career as a board-certified psychiatric clinical pharmacist in the United States.

Passionate about offering yoga to everyone, she has taught extensively in prisons, detention centres and care homes, and was the UK’s first yoga therapist employed by the prison system to work with individual residents. With a private practice at her home studio on the River Thames, she specialises in the treatment of stress, anxiety, depression and trauma, and the support of neurodiversity, compassion fatigue, grief, and imposter syndrome. Designing personalised sessions, she offers holistic healing online, onland, and on water, drawing from yoga therapy, breath work, SUP Yoga, and Aroma Point Therapy among other techniques.

Currently, Dee is pioneering a bold new approach in sensory integration with a particular focus on trauma, recently embarking on advanced training in dreamwork. Informed by cutting-edge neuroscience that artfully weaves ancient yogic traditions like Yoga Nidra and Tibetan Dream Yoga with therapies such as EMDR and dream re-scripting her work helps clients transform distressing nightmares, soothe the nervous system, and unlock deeper neurological and emotional healing through a holistic, trauma-informed lens.

My mission is simple: to empower others to awaken at their own pace, to meet their suffering with care and kindness, and to weave lucidity into every thread of their lives.

  • Body and brain-based modalities provide a diverse toolkit for us to work with, including advanced trauma-informed EMDR, flash technique, nature therapy, cold water therapy, AcroYogaDance, Qi Gong, dance, Aroma Point Therapy, SUP Yoga, mindfulness techniques, somatic psychotherapy, embodiment practices, regulation strategies, restorative yoga, & yoga nidra.

My work is informed and influenced by IFS, DBT, ACT, CBT, and sensorimotor psychotherapy, and I am certified to work with children/adolescents, pregnancy, and perinatal mental health.I offer reduced rates for health professionals, fellow yoga teachers, yoga therapists and psychotherapists in training.

  • I am carried every day by the experience of rearing two now-grown boys, the complex trauma and significant grief of losing my husband of 25 years on 4 April 2014 and at once, by the skill and generosity of the diverse teachers and teachings at my back.

Countless lineages and skilled teachers have and continue to positively influence my practice and path to deeper understanding, embodiment, and growth.

Among them, I have trained with Heather Mason (Founder of the Minded Institute in London), Dr. Richard Brown and Dr. Patricia Garberg (Breath Body and Mind Foundation), Linda Thai (sensorimotor psychotherapist and assistant to Dr. Bessel van der Kolk), Robin Rothenberg (Author of Restoring Prana Program), James Fox (Director and Founder of the Prison Yoga Project), Rene Quenell Himalayan Institute Sri Vidya Tradition, Uma Dismore Tuli (pregnancy yoga and Women’s Health), and Dr. Franciose Freedman (Perinatal Mental Health & Pregnancy Yoga). These teachers have had a profound effect on my teaching and personal practice.
